Come ye Kings and Queens

Come ye Kings and Queens

The monarchy.  It doesn’t matter what country or area a king or queen may reside, they have to go.  We have progressed to the point of democracy with leaders we elect.  Let us get rid of such an ancient and downright insulting practice.  How can people still believe in the power of a bunch of inbreeds?  We tend to believe that all people are created equal upon birth, except for that guy whose great ancestors sailed over from Normandy and violently took over an island nation.  They get a pass because their ancestors killed a ton of our ancestors and we said fine do what you want.  How can people just accept that based on birth a group of people are better than them?  That’s not the way we do things anymore.  What did any of the nobility do to deserve their high places in society?  They just had the cosmic fortune of being born in the right place.  We need people outside of the Sex Pistols to revolt and tell them all to abdicate their outdated thrones.  I’m not saying that they have to give up their riches (which would be very nice and they should do that regardless), but they should at least give up their titles and crowns because it’s the 21st century.  We have all been able to grow and progress in terms of human rights and scientific advancements, yet we still cannot bring ourselves to rid the world of kings and queens.  It’s simply absurd.  Let the idea of a monarchical government go into the history museums of the world.  If the royals don’t want to abdicate, we should put them in a museum.  On every hour starting at two, the museum would allow for public viewings and feedings of the monarchy.  The people deserve to see what a true primitive culture looks like in the flesh.
This does sound like the post of a most likely uncultured, leftist young man, but I feel that I shouldn’t be the crazy one here.  Especially, not in the land we like to call “America”.  To see Americans celebrate a royal wedding or baby goes against everything it means to be an American.  We fought against monarchies and now two hundred years later we suckle at the feet of the newest heir to the throne whose only job in life is to be mildly good at polo and not dress like a Nazi at a Halloween party.  It’s positively sickening to watch people grasp on to and praise one of the last living remnants of a backwards past we used to subscribe to because it falls under the heading of tradition.  Tradition isn’t always good.  Just ask any American that isn’t a white protestant about our proud tradition of hatred.  You won’t see a lot of proud supporters of tradition there.
For now, the people are content in their ways.  If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it said a proverb that has lost much of whatever meaning it had by now.  I just can’t understand how people would put up with such bullshit and believe in a system so rooted against them that fuck it, fuck them.  Sometimes I just wanna buy a boat, grow a beard and sail around with nothing and forget all you fuckers and your complacency.  FUCK it…
(editor’s note – the next three pages go on to describe a life with nothing but sailing and island parties, mixed with some monarchy ramblings and more cries of “fuck it”.  They are really quite inspired and I could show you them, but fuck it there mine!)
